Going to the most magical place on earth is full of magic and first class service but when paired with Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, it takes your vacation to a whole other level.

This resort is themed after a Victorian era beach resort with its red gabled roofs and white walls. Walking in to the hotel for the first time you will know you are in a special place with its beautiful five-story Victorian lobby. A grand piano sits in the middle of the room with a pianist every afternoon playing classic Disney music. A floor above is the home to the Grand Floridian’s own Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. They play ragtime, jazz and traditional Disney songs every evening. The lobby is one of my favorite stops during my vacation to sit and put my feet up from a busy day and listen to the music while taking in the beautiful surroundings.

The rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian are just as elegant. Each room has views of the theme park, lagoon or one of the many beautiful gardens at the resort. There are some perfect places to sit and watch the fireworks right from the resort. At the marina viewing location they even pipe in the music from the Castle. The lobbies of each building have the most beautiful fresh flowers. Actually fresh flowers can be found all over the resort buildings adding that touch of sophistication to your stay. Each night while you sleep, cast members are busy cleaning every inch of the hotel. It is hands down the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The cast members here are attentive to every detail at the resort.

Some of the finest Dining at Disney can be found at the Grand Floridian. Victoria and Albert’s was a recipient of AAA’s Five Diamond Award and is the glass slipper to dining in Disney World in my opinion. If you have younger ones traveling in your party you must experience 1900 Park Fare where you can dine with Cinderella for dinner or Alice and Wonderland for breakfast. Tea time is always offered and for the little princess in your life they even offer a Princess Tea Party that will make even Mom feel like she is in a storybook.

My daughter is always the first to ask about the pool when we are traveling. The pools at the Grand Floridian are one of her favorite ways to spend the afternoon. We always make rope drop in the morning so we can beat a majority of the crowds and spend our afternoons relaxing by the pool. The Grand Floridian’s calm and elegant atmosphere almost feels like you aren’t at Disney. Out of all the hotels I have stayed in at Disney, the Grand Floridian has made my family feel the most relaxed and pampered. Along with two pools there is an Alice in Wonderland themed splash zone for the younger kids to play in. My daughter fought nap time each day on this last trip and wanted to spend her afternoon playing here instead.

I can’t forget Senses Spa. This is the place on property to pamper yourself and indulge in a facial, massage or one of their many services they offer. For the little princesses there are kid friendly spa options. The Grand Floridian is also in the process of building another Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location.

Besides the first class service and beautiful grounds the Disney’s Grand Floridian is a very convenient location for those spending more time at the Magic Kingdom. The Grand Floridian is the last stop on the monorail system before the Magic Kingdom. It also has water taxis from the dock on property. At the end of the fireworks you can walk directly past all of the long lines of people waiting for monorail transportation and jump on one of the boats that gets you to the resort in five minutes!

We stayed here as adults without kids because we actually thought that it was too elegant for our loud little girl but were we wrong. This romantic and elegant hotel is very kid and family friendly with the kid’s pool games each afternoon, lawn games and movie nights on the grass. Plus the convenience of the resort makes it easy to head back for an afternoon nap or some relaxation next to the pool. This hotel is without a doubt the grandest and most deluxe of any of the Disney resorts.
