No one wants to experience attractions and experiences being down for refurbishment or a possible permanent closure during their Walt Disney World Resort vacation but Disney does have to do routine maintenance, safety upgrades and make improvements each year. Disney works hard to keep their theme parks and resorts in exceptional condition. Here is what you can expect during 2019-2020 for refurbishments and closures. Keep in mind Disney does often change their refurbishment schedules so these dates are subject to change.

Magic Kingdom Park
Walt Disney World Railroad – Main Street U.S.A. – Closed early Dec. 2018 – TBD (likely summer 2020)
Jungle Cruise – late Oct. early Nov. for holiday overlay installations; early January for holiday overlay removal
Splash Mountain – Usually closes early January for seasonal refurbishment (not confirmed)
Epcot
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth – Permanently ends on Sept. 30, 2019
O Canada – Aug. 1, 2019 to early 2020
Club Cool – Sept. 8 Permanent Closure
Innoventions East – Sept. 8 Permanent Closure
Meet Disney Pals at the Epcot Character Spot – Sept. 8 Permanent Closure
Take a Nanooze Break – Sept. 8 Permanent Closure
Epcot Entrance – Leave a Legacy monuments are currently being removed in the initial phase of the Epcot entryway redesign with its completion date TBD

The Super Shindig – Oct. 1, 2019 Permanent Closure

Kali River Rapids – Typically closes early January into February and sometimes March for seasonal refurbishment (not confirmed)
