9 of the Best Allergy Friendly Snacks at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is known for specializing in some of the best customer service.  So when it comes to allergies, they work hard to make sure you are educated and feel safe about what you are putting in your mouth.  If you are traveling with children I can guarantee they won’t be missing out on any delicious Disney food.

When ordering it is best practice to ask a cast member to see a list of ingredients if you are not sure if something is safe.  Most are very knowledgeable and will warn you if there is a chance of possible cross contamination.  Disney does try to be consistent with their recipes.

Here is a list of some of my family’s favorite allergy friendly snacks!

9. Dole Whip

This famous soft serve treat is free of the top 8 allergens (yes dairy too).  Disney is very careful with this product to avoid cross contamination.  Stop in to Aloha Isle for this if you are in the Magic Kingdom.  You can find dole whip in other places as well.

8. Mickey Pretzels

This tasty treat isn’t for all allergy friendly people but it is safe for those with dairy, peanut and tree nut allergies.  Sadly no gluten free option here.

7. Popcorn

This buttery delight can be smelled as soon as you walk through the Magic Kingdom entrance and we usually have to stop and grab another box to munch on as we exit the park too.  It is vegan and safe for dairy, egg and gluten allergies.  This is probably our go to snack!

6. Erin McKenna’s Bakery at Disney Springs

Gluten free, vegan, dairy and egg free.  They do not serve any nut or peanut products in the shop but do warn of potential cross-contamination because of the warning on the flour they use as well as the coconut they use.  This place is an amazing stop for those that usually cannot have bakery treats because of food allergies.  Here is your chance!

5. Beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

Can you believe these are actually allergy friendly?  They just aren’t calorie friendly!  Don’t forget to add the allergy-friendly dipping sauces!

4. Snacks with Character

These snacks are a partnership between Enjoy Life Foods and Walt Disney World and Disneyland.  You can find them in many resort snack shops.  They have a variety of snacks and treats that are free of the Top 8 allergens.

3. Frozen Bars and Ice Cream

This is my gluten free daughter’s go to snack.  She loves her Mickey bars.  (Have you seen them now at Walmart?!  We can eat a Mickey bar at home now!)  Mickey bars are not dairy free but they are peanut, tree nut and gluten free.   Those ice cream carts also provide safe alternatives for those with dairy allergies such as frozen lemonade strawberry bars, frozen lemonades and a few other options.

2 Fancy Drinks

What better way to cool off than slurping your way around the park with a refreshing and cool drink!  There are so many different kid friendly even drinks from lemonade slush to frozen jungle juice.  Look for these in a lot of the quick service locations throughout the parks.

1. Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

While some go straight for the turkey legs, others go for a healthier option.  Disney parks does have specific carts that offer options like apples, bananas, grapes and carrots.

Disclaimer: Every person and allergy is different. If you have an allergy, please never assume a snack is safe, just remember to always ask for the official Disney allergy binder that you can find at almost every food station before you order. Disney works hard to make sure everyone has a magical experience and a full tummy!
